Something I'm Offering
Writing from a Steadier State
In an earlier post, I wrote about signing up for a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and now, 6 months in, I am coming to the end of what has been a really great experience.
As part of our training, we each design and lead a workshop or class, our Karma Project. When I started thinking about what mine would be, I didn’t have to look very far.
Two things I’ve been genuinely enjoying in retirement are writing and yoga, and I wanted to design something that brought out the best of both. There’s something about the moment before starting that can bring out every reason not to, and I wanted to short-circuit that.
The simplest practices — a few breaths, a moment to actually settle — can change what it feels like to begin. Not because they’re magic, but because a body that’s bracing isn’t a body that’s ready to settle or to create. I find I am at my best when I can quiet the noise.
So I’m bringing the two together.
On Thursday, April 16, I’m offering a free one-hour online session called Grounded Body. Brave Voice. This is a workshop for anyone who has something to say but finds that something keeps getting in their way when they sit down to write. We’ll explore mindful practices like breath and gentle movement to settle before we have the opportunity to write for a few minutes, or not. It’s up to you.
If this has piqued your interest, reply here or reach out to me directly, and I’ll send you the details.
You can’t bullet-point your way through transformation (I know, I’ve tried), but sometimes a single quiet hour can change what feels possible.
When the body settles, the voice follows.

I love this!! Good luck with it!
